Western Australia’s Coral Coast is one of the most extraordinary stretches of coastline on Earth, and the West Coast Adventure (Southbound) invites travellers to experience its beauty in a way that’s immersive, social, and effortlessly memorable. Over seven days, this small‑group journey travels from Exmouth to Perth, tracing a route rich with marine life, red‑rock gorges, sweeping beaches, and the kind of wide‑open landscapes that define Australia’s wild west. Operated by Intrepid Travel — a Platinum‑rated operator with thousands of glowing reviews — this fully guided adventure blends comfort, exploration, and low‑intensity activity, making it ideal for travellers who want meaningful experiences without the rush.
Your adventure begins in Exmouth, gateway to the UNESCO‑listed Ningaloo Reef. From here, the tour heads to Coral Bay, a place where turquoise water meets powder‑white sand and marine encounters feel almost effortless. Whether you’re watching rays glide through the shallows or simply soaking up the relaxed coastal atmosphere, Coral Bay sets the tone for the days ahead: unhurried, nature‑rich, and deeply connected to place.
Continuing south, the journey moves into Shark Bay, one of Australia’s most remarkable wildlife regions. Think striking coastlines, unique ecosystems, and the chance to witness the raw beauty of Western Australia’s remote edges. With an experienced guide leading the way, travellers gain insight into the region’s natural history, cultural significance, and conservation efforts — all while enjoying the camaraderie of a small group of like‑minded explorers.
From Shark Bay, the landscape shifts dramatically as you enter Kalbarri National Park, home to rugged gorges, dramatic lookouts, and the iconic red sandstone formations that make this region so photogenic. Light physical activity keeps the pace accessible, while still offering opportunities to explore the park’s highlights and take in sweeping views that stretch across ancient river systems and desert‑carved cliffs.
The final leg of the journey travels through Geraldton before reaching Perth, completing a southbound route that showcases the very best of Western Australia’s coastline. With accommodation, transport, guiding, and select meals included, the tour is designed for ease — perfect for travellers aged 15+ who want a seamless, expertly curated experience.
Whether you’re searching for a Western Australia tour that highlights Ningaloo Reef, a small‑group Exmouth‑to‑Perth itinerary, or an adventure that blends wildlife, landscapes, and relaxed exploration, the West Coast Adventure (Southbound) delivers a journey that’s as enriching as it is unforgettable. This is Western Australia at its most spectacular — and the perfect way to experience the Coral Coast with confidence, comfort, and a spirit of discovery.
