Overview

The Bundian Way – Bilbaan Cultural Experience invites visitors into one of the oldest continuous cultural landscapes on Earth, offering a rare opportunity to walk, listen, and learn on Country with the knowledge holders who have cared for it since time immemorial. Set at Jigamy (Keeping Place) on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, this three‑hour experience is guided by local Aboriginal community members who share stories, traditions, and perspectives deeply rooted in the ancient pathway known as the Bundian Way. This route, stretching from the high country to the coast, has been travelled for thousands of generations for ceremony, gathering, trade, and connection.

The experience begins at the Keeping Place, a cultural hub where visitors are welcomed and introduced to the significance of the land, the people, and the enduring relationships between them. From here, guests follow the Bilbaan section of the Bundian Way, moving through bushland rich with native plants, wildlife, and cultural markers. Along the way, guides share insights into traditional practices, seasonal knowledge, and the stories that shape identity and belonging. Each moment offers a deeper understanding of how Country provides, teaches, and connects.

More than a tour, this is an invitation to slow down, observe, and appreciate the living culture of the region. Visitors leave with a renewed sense of respect for Aboriginal heritage and a clearer understanding of the Bundian Way’s importance as both a physical route and a cultural pathway that continues to guide community today. Whether you’re seeking meaningful connection, cultural learning, or a unique experience on the Far South Coast, the Bundian Way – Bilbaan Cultural Experience offers a powerful and memorable journey.
