Ever wanted to walk the shores of Summer Bay? This is your chance. Join an expertly guided day tour from Sydney’s CBD to Palm Beach — the real-life home of Home and Away, Australia’s most beloved TV drama — and step directly into the world of the show that has captivated audiences across Australia, the UK, Ireland, and beyond since 1988.
Travelling along Sydney’s stunning Northern Beaches coastal roads, you’ll discover why Palm Beach has been the backdrop of Summer Bay for over three decades. Whether you’re a lifelong fan who knows every character’s storyline, or simply someone who loves breathtaking coastal scenery, this tour delivers an unforgettable day out. Two tour options are available — Filming Very Likely for those hoping to catch live production in action, and Meet an Actor for a guaranteed up-close experience with a current cast member.
Not included: Lunch (bring your own or purchase locally), return Manly Ferry fare to Circular Quay (currently approx. $7.60 per person)
Departure Meet your guide and fellow fans at 107 Harrington Street, The Rocks, Sydney — the back entrance to the Four Seasons Hotel, opposite the Harrington Convenience Store — at 10:30am sharp. The coach departs promptly, so please arrive a few minutes early.
The Journey North As you head up the coast, your guide will keep you entertained with behind-the-scenes stories, cast gossip, production trivia, and the kind of insider knowledge that only a true Home and Away devotee can provide. Along the way, you’ll pass through some of Sydney’s most picturesque Northern Beaches suburbs, including Avalon Beach and Whale Beach.
Arriving at Palm Beach (Summer Bay) Once you arrive at Palm Beach — just 41 kilometres north of Sydney’s CBD on a spectacular peninsula between Pittwater and Broken Bay — the Summer Bay magic really comes to life. You’ll visit:
Free Time You’ll have free time at Palm Beach to explore at your own pace, take photos, grab a snack, or simply sit on one of Sydney’s most beautiful stretches of golden sand and enjoy the view.
Finishing at Manly Beach The tour wraps up at world-famous Manly Beach at approximately 3:30–4:00pm, where you can browse the Manly Corso, enjoy a coffee at the beachfront, or simply catch the scenic 30-minute Manly Ferry back to Circular Quay (ferry fare not included).
Total duration: approximately 5–5.5 hours
Which tour option should I choose — Filming Very Likely or Meet an Actor? If you want the thrill of possibility — watching live scenes being filmed and potentially bumping into cast on location — choose the Filming Very Likely tour, which runs most Mondays and Tuesdays. If you want a guaranteed cast experience with dedicated time for photos, autographs, and a Q&A, choose the Meet an Actor tour, which runs on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Is filming guaranteed on the Filming Very Likely tour? No. While your guide has extensive knowledge of the filming schedule, production can change at short notice. There is no guarantee that filming will be taking place, nor how close to the cast you may get if it is. For certainty, the Meet an Actor tour is the better choice.
